Admitted Freshmen (SOFA)
The Survey of Freshman Admits (SOFA) is conducted approximately every five years. The University surveys admitted freshman students during the summer before their initial enrollment. The pool includes admitted students who enroll at Michigan as well as students admitted to the UM who choose to enroll at other institutions.
The U-M uses this survey to probe the college-choice process of admitted students and to determine the University’s competitive position relative to other institutions. SOFA results are generally distributed to Schools, Colleges and other units within the University.
