The University of Michigan – Ann Arbor identified groups of students with exceptional need, consistent with the guidance presented in CRRSAA. The student groups selected were undergraduate students that received Pell grants during the 2020-21 academic year, graduate students that borrowed large amounts of federal direct loans, and students that have documented significant losses of financial resources with the Office of Financial Aid as a result of the pandemic. Students are encouraged to set up direct deposit, so that if they receive an emergency grant payment receipt can be expedited.
